Mr. Finocchio has been actively engaged in the practice of family and matrimonial law for many years, and has prosecuted actions in the family court and Supreme Court of the state of New York. He is involved in approximately 200 different matrimonial and family law matters on an annual basis. He is a member of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, as well as the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association. He was also the chairman of the Family Law and Family Court Committee for the Onondaga County Bar Association from 1988-1995.

Mr. Finocchio's publication in Family Law Review can be found in volume 36, number 2, Fall 2004, page 21 in the matter of Strack vs. Strack, Onondaga County Supreme Court, decided on December 23, 2003. This case was a rescission action whereby he had the parties' separation agreement rescinded due to his client not receiving fair and full disclosure of the full calculation of all marital assets from her husband.

Mr. Finocchio has represented several litigants at the appellate level in both the third and fourth department. The Family Law Review has also published his appellate cases, such as the Onondaga State Bar Association found in volume 26, number 1, March 1994.
